Hi there, I'm Bert from Holland,
Meine deutsch ist nicht so gut, but i can read german, just can't write it

I'd like to build in a boardcomputer into my 9n3, like on the picture,
can i do it myself? Or should let a VW dealer build it in?
There is a B.C. installed, but is underneath the speedometer. Not a red display,w hich i like better.

Dafür benötigst du einen komplett neuen Tacho der diesen Computer enthält.
Den Einbau kannst du selber machen. Du musst dann nur noch zu deinem VW-Händler fahren und es freischalten lassen.

Bitte berichtigt mich, wenn ich falsch liege..

Thank you for your respond.
The good thing is that VW forgot to mount the chorme rings
around the tacho's. A new one is orderd. I'll let the dealer mount it

My German isn't very good, but i can read it a little bit. I think your
tutorial is very helpfull.

Could you tell me where i can get a tacho-unit like that? With a full display?

only ebay... and there were not a lot in the past... so you have to wait

You can order a new one from VW, but they are very expensive (i think something between 600 and 800 euros). Otherwise you can try to ask a scrap dealer, but i think the chance to get such an unit there is very low. If you buy an used one ebay or at a scrap dealer, take care, the tacho-unit must fit to your engine! A tacho from a 130hp diesel car will not work in a 55hp gasoline car.

If you don't understand something in the tutorial or you are not sure, just ask, we can translate it into english. Its better if you ask one time too much than if you damage your car or hurt yourself (e.g. at unmounting the airbag unit).

Stephan, if you remember, we have spoken in the past about that. I would like to ask some things again.

I have a 1.4 75bhp 9N with no trip computer, even the small one which is integrated in the small screen which also has the clock. In that screen I have only the digital clock.

Is it possible to install the MFA? What exactly parts do I need? I tryied reading the tutorial but I cannot.
