Hello! New Member from Brazil
Gutenabend meine Freunde!
My name is Mikhail [call me Mika], I'm from São Paulo, Brazil
I have a Astra G 2.0 16v & a Polo 1.6 9N [My Brother's], will be selling my Astra in a few months and buying a 9N³ 1.6 FlexFuel [Petrol or Ethanol]
So we will have 2 Polo at home
I have some questions about wheels, tires, suspension...could you guys help me?
1) What is the most recommended 17" wheel width for the Polo 9n³? 6.5", 7" or 7.5"? What about OFFSET? Minimum 32mm ~ Maximum 40mm?
2) What about tire size to use on a 17" wheel, which is the best for ride comfort?
205/40 ~ 215/40 ~ 215/35 ~ 225/35 ~ 215/45
3) Which is the best coilover kit available for the Polo 9N³? H&R, Bilstein, Koni?
Thanks and sorry for so many questions!

Hi & Welcome!
The most used combination is 7.5x17 with 205/40 but you can also use 195 or 215 on those rims. Most of the rims in this dimensions have an offset of 38. As far as I know, the minimum with 7.5-rims is about 28mm.
Your third queston is difficult to answer because this depends on your own preference between comfort and best look.

Hey yo welcome
Personally I prefer 18s wheels.
But yeh, 17" - that will really depend on what style you want surely? But go for 7.5x17" with 215/35/17 is my recommendation. Or even 225/35/17. But that is my personal preference if you ask me, cause I really don't like my tyres to be stretched across the alloy wheel if you look at it from the back/front. I like the tyres to be aligned to the wheel, just looks better (in my opinion).
Suspension. Well that will depend on your driving style, road and even budget?
I'm using FK Highsport Coilover, mainly based on my budget but not the cheapest crap you can get off eBay! Ride is relatively comfortable but does get quite bumpy at times. I've lowered 40mm at the front and 60mm at the back with the suspesion and I love it if you ask me.

Re: Hello! New Member from Brazil
Hi,
I have a 2008 VW Polo (9N3) Auto 4 Doors1400CC. I would like to change to 17" or 18" wheels. Can anyone tell me which is better? Also, could someone tell me the size of the tires and the offset of the wheel? After I changed it, do I need to change or lower the suspension also?
Thanks.

You can see all legal dimensions here: http://www.polo9n.info/reifen.html
Changing the supsension is not needed, but looks way better 17 oder 18 inch... it's your personal flavor that counts. The bigger the rim, the lower the tire, the "harder" the driving pleasure 17" is considered a well-looking size in general.
