Front Sitze Schmutzig!!

Ungelesener Beitragvon Sylonien » 12. Mär 2006, 03:41

Hi.

Wollte mal fragen ob man die vorne sitze irgendwie rausnehmen kann und es zuwaschen oder so?

Can't really explain in german, hope you understand what I mean by english. I mean the actual "seat" cover on the front seats, not the back bit. :|

Hi,

I think I know what you mean :) ! To clean the seats it's not necessary to remove them! If your seats are not too dirty try to clean them with a special foam for carseats! I tried this foam in my car and it worked great (I had Coca-Cola on my seats :D )!

Thanks man.

Problem is, I had some stain on my backseats before and I tried using that foam stuff and it goes, but leaves water marks on the edges or some "powerdery" stuff on it, which doesn't look good :( Had to remove the back seat covers and put it in the washing machine to get it cleaned off. As it was too expensive to purchase some news one which was £175 // €253!

But hopefully I can remove the front ones and put them in the washing machine too somehow? :|

Hello!

I searched a little bit in the forum. http://forum.polo9n.info/viewtopic.php? ... e+ausbauen <-- In this Thread I found something!

It's possible to remove the frontseats! You have to remove the four screws in the seatrail. For this screws you need a special bit for your screwdriver. After removing the screws you can put out the seats with the seatrail! If you have sidebags you have to clamp off (I don't know if it's the right word :D ) your battery (first step) and remove the yellow plug for your sidebags on the seat (second step). During your battery and your sidebag is clamped off DO NOT TURN ON your ignition-lock! The result would be a Airbag-failure!

You should clean textiles always completely, not only spots, to avoid such water-marks.

Stand in meinem Pflege-Heft vom Sofa :D Es gibt halt immer Wasserränder, ausser man nimmt destilliertes Wasser. Wenn man einfach die ganze Fläche von Naht bis Naht nass abreibt, hat man das Phänomen nicht. Klappt bisher gut :)

Thanks for your help and search around for me. I think I understand the idea, but putting the idea to practice might be more difficult when I read through the link you gave me about the "special" screwdriver. :(

Is that the only way to remove the seat covers only?

I see - distilled water... good point - should of thought about that before :grr: But the patch I cleaned off is like darker, plus the water mark on the edge. So if I cleaned the entire seat - wouldn't it make it even darker on the whole seat cover? :oh:

I'm not sure but I think that's the only way to remove the seat covers! Perhaps somebody has another idea how to remove the seat covers without put out the whole seat!
Unfortunately I don't know how this "special" screwdriver is called in technical English!

An alle: Weiß jemand von euch zufällig wie sich dieser Vielzahnschlüssel auf English nennt?

Water has only a temporary effect on the brightness of the material, I think. The normal effect of our "Leitungswasser" is, as far as I know, the rests of minerals, for example "Kalk". Water itself should leave no markings etc.

My English is much too worse for such technical topics, isn't it?

That's a kind of "Vielzannschlüssel". The word simply means the thing has a lot of teeth :D Hope you understand ;)

As far as I know, in our context the screwdriver has to be the part painted white on the image... but I'm not sure indeed :D

I looked up in a technical dictionary. This kind of screwdriver is called "polygon head"!

Sorry ein bißchen altes Thread, aber wollte mal was "clarify'en".

Don't turn on my ignition when air bag is disconnected, but I thougth the battery is already clamped / disconnected. Surely it won't matter? I know that I won't do it but just for reference.
