MFA routing information in FIS tacho

Hi all, i am confusing with MFD ver D and G, FIS, TMC box.
Seems that RNS MFD ver G get ability to communicate thru Can-bus, and the TMC box with part number 3B0 919 894 A not only get the function of TMC but also as a Can-bus gateway, so both install this TMC box and ver G MFD, the cluster with big FIS screen will display both radio/cd informations and the routing information. Is that true? and what about a single ver D MFD without TMC box? can it also display the routing information in the FIS tacho?

only with TMC-Box and Navi MFD ...G or without TMC MCD ...C or Radio Delta you can get driving information into FIS tacho Everything is going over CAN Bus

hi, lichtenauer, thx for your reply. according to your information, to display the routing information in the FIS tacho, must the MFD support CANBUS, and cooperate with the TMC box. Is that right? What about a other OEM Navigation which suppurt CANBUS with TMC box? Can this display the routing informaion in the tacho?

Hi,

yes, thats right with the MFD. The MCD with Ending ...C send the routing information without TMC Box, because the TMC Box is there inside. You only need CAN High + CAN Low to Tacho and CAN ground and Kl. 15. And when you have a 9N3 you can change to Delta Radio without problems and have the routing information in the Tacho.

thanks, lichtenauer. I am a chinese, and I think neither MFD ver D nor G supports the chinese characters, and i can't get the chinese map disk for MFD. But in china, i found that many the third party navigation system support canbus, and they can display only the cd and radio information in the tacho. I also found that the chinese ver in passat B5 made by AISIN AW, it can display both the cd/radio infomation and routing information. and i found it is RNS-CN1, and the part number is 3B0 035 191 and 3B0 035 191 A, DVD based system, but only can play cd disk or the DVD map disk. a little like audi RNS-E? Dose this navigation intergrated TMC in it?
